    9/11 - The Truth?

    I found this article this morning and think it an interesting read.  Check it out.
     
     
    Following your read:
     
    **Disclaimer: the following is to incite thought only.  There is no evidence to support anything that may be suggested.  It is here to try and open your mind to possibilities**
     
    What are your thoughts?  Is it possible that the collapse was due to strategically placed bombs?   What can we make of the statements: " 'It is quite plausible that explosives were pre-planted in all three buildings and set off after the two plane crashes — which were actually a diversion tactic,'... 'Muslims are (probably) not to blame for bringing down the WTC buildings after all.' " 
     
    From the start I was against the fact that America so quickly jumped on the "Muslims did it" bandwagon.  I felt that much more investigation needed to be done (and still does) to determine those actually responsible.  I am not opposed to the theory that bombs actually brought down the buildings but something doesn't sit right about the above quote.  If we take out the word Muslim and insert "blank" as the villian we are still left with a conspiracy theory aren't we?  If those responsible for crashing the planes into the buildings were not responsible for the collapse, were not responsible for placing the bombs, then who was?  If the planes were a diversion tactic was it just luck for the real villians that they happened to have bombs in the building to set off at that exact time?  And wouldn't they have needed previous knowledge of the diversion so as to organize themselves?  If we take those responsible for crashing the planes out of the equation as the reason for the collapse what are we left with?  I will admit that my mind jumped to the American government (call me a cynic if you must).  They had reports of imminent attacks on the twin towers but claimed (at the time of 9/11) that the reports were not ... insert random excuse here [not clear enough, not taken seriously ...].  What if the reports were clear?  What if the government knew exactly when and where attacks would take place?  What if they placed the bombs themselves?  What if this entire thing is a "greater good" scenario?  What if you have to give some lives to save some lives?  What if the terrorist attack on America was a fun house mirror to distort the truth?  
     
    What if you take "the American government" out of the equation as well?  Could this whole thing be the result of one person?  Maybe someone who had access to those confidential reports?  Maybe someone who needed justification for what they believed needed to be done?  Of course that individual would have to wield enough power to make sure that the real reason the buildings fell never made it into the reports.  They would have to have enough power to oversee the PR after the catastrophe to make sure that they could manipulate the minds of Americans during an intensely emotional time period.  They would probably also need a scapegoat, maybe someone in charge of a country that no one has respect for anyway and who comes off as an idiot, or maybe that is the genius of it all.  Maybe the "scapegoat" plays the part he himself invented.  Maybe the "scapegoat" is a genius and no one is the wiser.
     
    Or what if terrorists did attack America?  What if in conjunction with crashing the planes terrorists set off bombs that they had pre-placed along the base of the buildings because they realized that crashing planes in and around the 22nd floor would not bring the buildings down as swiftly and completely as bombs would?  What if we are making assumptions based on too little data?  But then I guess that raises the question why are we not being provided with enough data so that we may make informed assumptions... and the whole conspiracy theory starts again.
     
    So many questions, so few answers.  What do you think?

    Well, I can certainly say that these theories are as worthy of investigation as anything else. I know there are still some Americans (myself included) who still question the immediate blaming of Afghanistan, the vast troop deployment with few results in that country, and the all-too-convenient shift of focus toward Iraq against the wishes of the U.N. and the American people. Our president has too many ties to that area to be so unable to find bin Laden after so long. Many believe that G.W. wanted to restore his daddy's bruised reputation from his attempt at stopping Hussein. There are too many signs and convenient twists to the story. That is why there has been so much political controversy, and why it has not simply fizzled out.

    I hope the Powers that Be consider these possibilites. Although, after so long, and with a White House so immune to making scandal stick, I wonder what real proof one can hope to find.

    Well my big question was going to be: Why would the U.S government want to bring down the WTC... so that they had an excuse to go to war?? csprissler has given an answer to that and what a scary thought it is!!

    This is not the first article I have seen outlining the case for a controlled implosion. I also am not bad with physics myself and I had noticed that the building came down faster than was possible under gravity.

    I definitely feel that the bulk of the Bush gang had forknowledge and in fact helped plan the attacks. Evidence against them is overwhelming.

    Is it really believeable that some guy hiding in a cave in Afghanistan outwitted the mutil-billion dollar US intelligence agency? Why hasn't bin Laden been caught when Saddam Hussein was trapped so easily? The answer is that Osama and Al-Qaeda are CIA assets: 9.11 was not, in my opinion, an intelligence failure, it was an intelligence success.

    Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney has tried repeatedly to put 9-11 back on the table; she once remarked on the attacks that "The American people need to consider the possibility that a criminal syndicate has taken over their government."

    In fact, Larry Silverstein, the lease holder of WTC 7, admitted in a PBS interview that this smaller building was brought down by controlled demolition.

    In order to understand the "big picture" (ha ha ha) it is necessary to realize two things: Oil and drugs are crucial to the US economy. The war in Afghanistan was designed to reinstate the opium supply; Iraq, Iran, Syria, Columbia and other countries are on the chopping block because they have oil.

    Maybe I'll just put a bunch of this stuff on my own site, before I get too carried away! (this may take a couple days, I have a lot of articles and papers to sort through on the subject of US government complicity) Good job posting this...I haven't had the nerve because of the amount of verbal abuse that I've taken when I suggested to family and friends that maybe something shady had taken place.
